Cisco´s Workstation
In this post I share with you my workstation and what gadgets may also be useful for you.
Often, after sharing pics on Instagram of my workstation or after a webinar, some people ask me “Ey, what is that thing you have to+ random object with a function”.
I feel that these questions that I had, mainly during the COVID-19 lockdown, deserved a short article to describe what are the main gadgets I use on the working station and what are their function.
First of all, I would like to share with you a pic of my workstation.
It is not a quite advanced workstation, but rather a functional workplace.
Let´s start describing some items:
iMac 2019 with 27- inch screen
The image I’m currently using is the iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019) with a 3,6 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 processor and a memory of 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4.
I choose this one after almost ten years with an iMac from 2010 (KIA). I upgraded the processor and memory because I use a lot After Effects, Illustrator, and Final Cut X at the same time.
if you don’t want to see your machine suffering, you should think about improving your iMac to have a seamless workflow with as few crashes as possible.
DSLR Camera- Nikon D610
This camera I use it to do home videos with a 35 mm lens or also to use it to document clinical cases.
Is a full frame camera and has been with me the last 4 years.
Now I´m working on using it as a webcam to improve the quality on webinars and other online initiatives.
iMac/PC Support
I accidentally found it on Instagram and I immediately placed the order (one of the bad things, when you are on lockdown, is start buying a lot of gadgets). It helps me to keep my desktop organized and cables organized.
Sometimes I forget I have so my cables and the workstation looks almost cordless.
USB Mic Blue Yeti
This Mic is in my opinion the best one considering the relationship price/quality. Outstanding performance and now available the new version.
I´ve been using this mic in the past 7 years. Sometimes I use it also for guitar playing and singing (poor mic 😅).
There is a new Yeti Mic Version.
100 mm Macro lens
This lens is the ones I recommend to use for clinical documentation but I also found them very useful for screen recording. Also, if you like macro photography you will enjoy this lens.
Computer elbow and wrist pad
After the lockdown, I realized I need this thing. My wrist was almost in blood after being every day almost 8-10 hours in front of the computer. Cheap and saves you some painful callus.
Also there are some items that are not in the picture but I also find them relevant:
Lightning: 19 inch LED Ring Light with LCD Display Adjustable Color Temperature 3000K-5800K
This one I bought it to record my online classes and also webinars. It´s amazing how with just a few hundred bucks you can buy good quality lightning kits.
K&F Concept Camera Tripod
I found this new brand. Is affordable and the quality is quite good.
Conclusion
Nowadays you can find a huge offering and variety on internet and once in a while you can receive newsletters with bargains and other promotions.
This is my workstation at the moment, although I have to say that I´m always trying to find new gadgtes that can help me to feel more comfortable when working from home.
If you have any insights or feedback, please drop me an email. I´ll would to love know about your setup.
